What our customers say

Word from across the water.

★★★★★
“We moved the whole house to the Costa Blanca and were dreading the paperwork. Ray Rose handled every form, packed everything beautifully and it arrived in Spain without a single breakage. Faultless.”
Mark & Lisa T. 3-bed house · Hoddesdon → Alicante
★★★★★
“Shipped a 20ft container to Melbourne for our emigration. Clear quote, brilliant communication while it was at sea, and the Australian crew were just as careful. Tracked the whole way.”
The Okafor family Full container · Cheshunt → Melbourne
★★★★★
“Only had a part-load going to our place near Bordeaux. They consolidated it with another move so it stayed affordable, and it still came door to door. Could not have been easier.”

Common questions · European & International

Before you book.

How far in advance should I book an international move?
For European road moves, four to six weeks gives us comfortable time to survey, pack and book a slot on a consolidated run. For sea freight to the US, Australia or further afield, aim for eight to twelve weeks — sailing schedules and customs clearance are fixed dates we work back from. We'll always take on shorter-notice moves where we can, so call us even if you're tight on time.
What's the difference between a part-load and a full container?
A full (sole-use) container — 20ft or 40ft — is reserved entirely for your belongings and ships on your schedule. A part-load, or groupage, shares container or vehicle space with other moves heading the same way, so you only pay for the volume you use. Part-loads are far more cost-effective for smaller moves or holiday-home deliveries; the trade-off is slightly less control over exact dates, as we wait until the load is full. We'll recommend the right option at survey.
Do you handle all the customs paperwork since Brexit?
Yes — completely. We prepare your detailed inventory, customs declarations, transfer-of-residence forms and any destination-specific documentation, and we liaise with bonded agents at the other end. Post-Brexit moves to the EU now require export paperwork that didn't exist before 2021, and getting it wrong causes costly delays at the border. We do this every week, so you don't have to learn it.
How long will my belongings take to arrive?
It depends entirely on destination and method. Road moves to France, Spain or the Netherlands are typically three to eight days. Sea freight to the USA or Canada runs five to nine weeks door-to-door, and Australia or New Zealand eight to twelve weeks, including clearance and quarantine inspection. We give you indicative transit times at quote and keep you posted with sailing and arrival dates throughout.
Are my goods insured while at sea or in transit?
Yes. Every international move includes comprehensive Marine Transit (all-risk) insurance covering the full door-to-door journey — road, sea, air and handling at both ends. You complete a valued inventory so cover reflects the replacement value of your belongings, and there are no surprise exclusions in the small print. We'll walk you through the valuation before anything is packed.
Can you ship a car, motorbike or other large item?
We can. Vehicles, motorbikes, boats and other oversized items ship either inside your container or via dedicated vehicle-shipping services, depending on destination rules. Each country has its own import regulations and duties for vehicles, so we'll confirm what's possible and what it involves at survey. Pianos, antiques and fine art are crated to export standard by our specialist crew.
What can't I ship — are there prohibited items?
For safety and customs reasons we can't ship flammable or hazardous goods (paints, aerosols, gas bottles, fuels), perishable food, plants and soil, or firearms and ammunition. Many destinations also restrict alcohol, certain woods and animal products. We provide a clear prohibited-and-restricted list with your quote so there are no nasty surprises when your shipment reaches customs.
Who unpacks and reassembles everything at the other end?
Vetted partner crews from our FIDI/FAIM network handle delivery at destination — they unload, unwrap, reassemble furniture and remove all the empty packaging, just as our own crews do in the UK. They work to the same standard we hold ourselves to, and we stay your single point of contact throughout, so if anything needs sorting you call us, not a stranger overseas.
