House removals

Trusted home moves across Hertfordshire, North London and Essex — run by the same family-owned crew since 2020.

Service Overview

From a studio flat to a seven-bedroom family home — handled by one crew, start to finish.

Ray Rose Removals has been moving households across Hertfordshire, North London and Essex since 2020. Every job is run by our own uniformed staff in our own fleet of vans — no third-party haulage, no overnight strangers handling your belongings.

Whether you're moving down the road in Cheshunt or relocating to the south coast, you'll have one point of contact from survey to final box. We carry full Goods in Transit insurance and Public Liability cover as standard, and every move is delivered with a written inventory.

Emma H. 3-bed house · Hoddesdon → Hertford
★★★★★
“Used Ray Rose twice now — once for our home move and once for my elderly mum. Same careful crew both times. Honest pricing, no surprises, and they treat your things like their own.”
David & Sarah K. 5-bed house · Cheshunt → Welwyn
★★★★★
“Moved from a first-floor flat in Enfield with the trickiest staircase. They came up the night before to check, dismantled what needed it, and had us in by 3pm. Worth every penny.”

Common questions · House Removals

Before you book.

How far in advance should I book my move?
Two to four weeks' notice is ideal, especially for Fridays and month-ends which book up fastest. That said, we keep some flexibility in the diary and regularly handle shorter-notice and last-minute moves — so if your dates are tight, call us and we'll do our best to fit you in.
What if I need to change the move date at short notice?
We understand completion dates slip — it's the nature of moving house. Just let us know as soon as you can and we'll rearrange to the next available slot at no penalty wherever possible. Because delays are so common, we build a little flexibility into every booking rather than charging you for something outside your control.
Do you provide packing materials, or do I supply my own?
We supply everything — boxes, wardrobe cartons, packing paper, bubble wrap, tape and mattress covers — and when you book packing alongside your move the materials are included free. Prefer to pack yourself? We can drop off materials in advance so you're fully stocked. It's entirely up to you.
Can you dismantle and reassemble furniture on the day?
Yes — our crew dismantle beds, wardrobes, flat-pack units and other large furniture at your old home and reassemble them at the new one. It's part of a standard full-service move. Just point out anything that needs taking apart during the survey so we bring the right tools and allow time.
What happens if completion is delayed and we can't get the keys?
It happens more often than you'd think on chain moves. If keys are held up on the day, our crew wait where practical, and if the move can't complete we can hold your belongings safely on the van or in secure storage overnight and deliver once you have access. We'll talk you through the options calmly — you won't be left stranded.
Are my belongings insured during the move?
Yes. Every move is covered by comprehensive goods-in-transit and public liability insurance as standard, so your belongings are protected from the moment we load to the moment we unload. For high-value items we can arrange enhanced cover — just flag anything of particular value at survey and we'll advise.
Do you offer overnight storage if the move spans two days?
We do. If your move runs over two days or there's a gap between completions, your belongings stay secure overnight — either loaded on the van or in our containerised storage — and we deliver the next day. It's a common part of longer-distance and chain moves, and we'll build it into your quote so there are no surprises.
How do I pay — and when?
We ask for payment on or shortly before moving day, by bank transfer or card. There's no large upfront deposit — you'll have a fixed written quote in advance, and that's the price you pay, with no hidden extras added afterwards. We'll set out exactly what's due and when at the time of booking.
