Service Overview

Trained packers, proper materials - your fragile and irreplaceable things handled by people who do this every day.

Hand the boxes over to people who pack houses for a living. We use wardrobe cartons, dish-pack inserts, anti-static bubble wrap and acid-free tissue - and trained packers who'll treat your kitchen like it's their own.

Choose a full pack (we do everything, the day before move day) or a part-pack (just the kitchen, the loft, or the awkward bits). When you book the pack with a Ray Rose removal, materials are included - no surprise add-ons.

Common questions · Packing

Before you book.

How far in advance should I book a pack?
Five working days' notice is ideal, which lets us schedule the right crew and have your materials ready. We'll often fit in same-week packs when our diary allows, so it's always worth calling. For a full-house pack the day before a move, we simply build it into your moving plan when you book the removal.
Do you bring all the boxes and materials?
Yes — everything comes with the crew. Wardrobe cartons, book and kitchen boxes, packing paper, anti-static bubble wrap, acid-free tissue, mattress covers and tape are all supplied and loaded onto the van. You don't need to buy or collect a thing, and when you bundle packing with a Ray Rose move the materials are included free.
What can't you pack? (hazardous, perishables, plants)
For safety we can't pack flammable or hazardous goods — paints, aerosols, gas bottles, fuels, fireworks — or perishable food and open liquids. Plants are best moved by you in the car, as they don't travel well boxed. We'll give you a clear list beforehand and happily advise on anything you're unsure about.
How much does packing cost on its own — without a move?
A standalone pack is quoted on property size and how much you'd like us to do — a full pack of a three-bed home typically takes a two-to-four-person crew a day, with materials charged on top. When you book packing alongside a Ray Rose removal, the materials are free and the labour is keenly priced. We'll always give you a fixed written quote after a quick survey.
Will the packers move heavy furniture too?
Our packing crew protect and prepare furniture — wrapping, blanket-covering and dismantling where needed — but the lifting and loading of heavy items is part of the removal itself. If you've booked the full move with us, the same team handles everything seamlessly. If you're only booking a pack, we'll prep furniture ready for whoever is doing the lift.
Do you pack valuables and jewellery?
We recommend you carry high-value small items — jewellery, cash, passports, important documents — with you personally rather than have them boxed. For valuable but bulky items like antiques, art and collections, our crew pack them to a high standard and note them on your inventory, and they're covered under your move insurance.
Can I do a part-pack — just the awkward stuff?
Absolutely — a part-pack is one of our most popular options. Many customers pack their own clothes and books and ask us to handle just the kitchen, the loft, the garage or the fragile china and glass. Tell us which rooms or items you'd like covered and we'll quote accordingly.
Do you offer an unpack-at-the-other-end service?
Yes. Our crew can unpack at your new home — unwrapping, placing items in the rooms you choose and taking all the empty boxes and packaging away with them. It's a popular add-on that gets you settled far faster; just let us know when you book and we'll include it in your quote.
